First official Baby Quilt ever

My First Official Quilt

This was actually the first official quilt of any kind that I attempted since my quilting class November of 2014.  My daughter and I went to a JoAnns in Fort Myers, Florida to pick out the material after she picked out the style of quilt in a quilting magazine that I have.

We both like the black material with the multicolored spots as the background to make the stars pop.  The light blue sky material was picked for two reasons, keeping with the sky feel, and her husband really Loves blue.

Once I started the quilt I did not let them see it until the day of the her baby shower.  

After I finished sewing the pieces together, I took it to the fabric store on Bal Harbour Dr, in Punta Gorda, Florida where I took my quilting class.  I really didn’t have a clue as to how to quilt it. (quilting design selection was all new to me.) The clerk that day suggested she would sew stars in the black areas and sew around the existing stars, so that’s what I did.  

I was finally able to use my first Quilt Label that I purchased the preceding February at the bi-annual quilt show held Punta Gorda, Florida.  The baby teddy bear was perfect for my 1st official baby quilt. I was thrilled when I folded it up and it was square and even…
