Mom’s Christmas 2018

My first Christmas done of the year.  Yay!  I love this design by Stoney Creek.    I just really don’t like my project to look like everyone else’s but on this one I put all the beads, snowflakes and charms.  It just makes it.  I put the quilted background on it and sewed it on more of an antique aida cloth.  Mom likes more of the country feel so I tried to soften it a little by the quilt.  I tried to coordinate the colors with the snowman’s scarf.  I was surprised the 3 snowflakes at the top had to be glued on instead of sewn but the charms are sewn and looks like they hang down, but they don’t.  I stitched down and sewed the charms on at the end.  Mom has cats, I was afraid they would have too much fun with the dangling charm.   My favorite part of the design is the roses at the bottom and on the sleigh.  It has the Christmas tree but if I know my Mom at all I believe she will keep this up year round.
